Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (1850 – 1937), Czech philosopher, sociologist, politician, 1st Czech president, elected 1918, 1920, 1927 and 1934. Admired for his natural moral authority and political influence.

Ema Destinnová (1878 – 1930), world famous Czech opera singer (soprano). Excelled especially in Bedřich Smetana, Strauss, Puccini, Wagner, Verdi works in Covent Garden, Metropolitan opera.
